Consensus Decision Making

Consensus decision making is a creative and dynamic way of reaching agreement between all members of a group. Consensus is neither compromise nor unanimity –it aims to go further than this by bringing together each individual’s best ideas and key concerns – a process that often accomplishes surprising, creative, and long-lasting solutions. Drawing on the experiences both CommunityWise Resource Centre and the Good Life Community Bicycle Shop have had using consensus within their organizations, this participatory workshop will provide an overview of the core skills for planning and facilitating meetings using a consensus decision making model.
