The responsibility of Boards, even volunteer based not-for-profit boards, covers all elements of governance. Having a working knowledge of these elements enables board members to better understand the liabilities associated with these responsibilities. The concepts of risk management and how they apply to non-profit boards is a good place to start. This session will therefore cover:
- The risk management process
- The relationship between board responsibilities and their associated risks and liabilities
- What can be done to help identify appropriate levels of protection and to mitigate the organization’s and, by doing so, the board’s exposure to risk.
Neil will draw from his many years in the insurance industry to illustrate the concepts he will share.
