Understanding Approaches to Effective Board Decision Making

Making effective decisions is the essence of good board governance. Too often Board members are frustrated in their efforts by the circumstances of the day that make good decision-making difficult. By getting clear on the roles of Board members and committees and by making decision-making processes an explicit part of Board governance, the Board can improve the quality and reliability of its leadership to the organization. This session will give you a framework to identify where your board might improve its decision-making capabilities and outline some common tools that can support your work.
