John Phin

John is a fundraiser with over 30 years of experience in staff positions and as a consultant, author and writer, and as a teacher and presenter on professional fundraising and Fund Development.  He is president of Applied Philanthropy Inc., and the Director of Western Canada for The Goldie Company, and currently Director of Resource Development at Hull Services in Calgary.

John has a well-developed sense for building relationships, solving problems and identifying opportunities.  He’s committed to continuing education and upholding internationally recognized standards of ethical professional practice as a steady advocate for his profession.  He earned and maintains the CFRE designation.  He is an active or past member of several professional associations with local, national and international board and committee experience.  For John, fundraising is a mission.
