Julie Black

Julie Black has a career that spans the charitable, corporate and freelance writing sectors. In her role at The Calgary Foundation, Julie supports the two grassroots granting programs that aim to engage people in the well-being of their neighbourhoods and communities – Neighbour Grants and Stepping Stones. She also organizes Calgary’s Jane’s Walk each May; Jane’s Walk is an international weekend of free neighbourhood walking tours to celebrate the legacy of urban writer and activist Jane Jacobs.  Julie recently earned her Masters of Arts in Community Studies at Athabasca University and is an avid hiker and community volunteer.
