Time: 10:45am – 12:15pm

Presenter(s): Raissa Espiritu, UCEED Investment Funds

Description: In an era where financial decisions are increasingly driven by the desire to achieve social good alongside financial returns, the concept of social finance has taken center stage. “Impact Investing Unveiled: Exploring Social Finance through Real-World Case Studies” is a meticulously crafted conference session designed for newcomers and seasoned professionals alike who are keen to understand the dynamics of integrating financial performance with social impact.

This 90-minute session will provide participants with an introductory yet comprehensive exploration of social finance, particularly focusing on impact investing as a transformative approach to sustainable development. Through a series of carefully selected case studies, attendees will uncover how impact investments are actively shaping industries, revitalizing communities, and addressing some of the most pressing environmental and social challenges of our time.

The session will commence with a brief introduction to the principles of social finance, distinguishing it from traditional investment approaches by its dual-objective to generate financial return and create measurable social impact. Participants will gain insight into the various forms of social finance instruments, such as social impact bonds, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) funds, and direct impact investments.

Following the foundational overview, the core of the session will dive into real-world case studies that highlight diverse applications and outcomes of impact investing across different sectors and regions.

The concluding segment will open the floor for a Q&A, allowing attendees to engage directly with speakers, including seasoned impact investors and social finance experts, to deepen their understanding and resolve any queries about entering or advancing in this innovative field.

Whether you are an investor looking to align your portfolio with your values, a financial professional exploring new avenues for growth, or simply interested in how finance can be a force for good, this session will equip you with the knowledge and inspiration to take your first steps into the world of social finance.
